Riverdance: CouLD Have Been More Dancing
I saw Yung Gravy at The Str Plaza in Merriville on Friday evening, February 11th, 2026. Unfortunately, they dropped the Russian Dance segment - Big Mistake!! The show was beautifully put together and the dancing, what there was of it, was fantastic. They put in more boring unintelligible singers who you couldn't understand even when they sang in English. The fiddle player was marvelous, but the music was way too loud for a mostly older audience. Another segment had a young black gentleman singing a song of Freedom - Marvelous voice but the song was out of place for this show unless he was protesting Britain's domination of Northern Ireland. I am pretty proficient in both Irish and Scots Gaelic and I found it to be boring and obtrusive. A segment in which they harked back to Ireland of the 19th century got a little tedious too. The American/Irish Tap Challenge was great and the two African/American dancers challenging each other was fantastic. They dressed in peasant costume, did numerous reels, but it was way too much and went on for far too long. Buffet Dinner was boring and bland. Meat was tough. Can't recommend it. Service was good.
